As the largest HRSA-funded Didactics Health Centre Graduate Medical Education consortium in the land, we offer comprehensive, community-focused residency programs in Northeast Pennsylvania and across the United States.
In Northeast Pennsylvania alone, close to 250 physician learners gain hands-on experience serving a diverse population in our doctor-lead, ACGME-accredited Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and Psychiatry residencies, as well as our Cardiovascular Disease, Gastroenterology and Geriatrics fellowships. Residencies
Concrete Medicine and Rehabilitation
To enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities, The Wright Center has launched a new Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency through a partnership with Allied Services Integrated Health Organisation and Northeastern Rehabilitation Associates.
Welcoming its first accomplice in July 2022, this ACGME-accredited, four-yr residency program will provide extensive training in the bear witness-based diagnosis, care and treatment of patients with disabilities in a variety of clinical settings, from small-scale injuries to devastating trauma.

Internal Medicine
Our Internal Medicine Residency plan is The Wright Heart for Graduate Medical Education'southward longest running and largest training program, welcoming our first class of six residents in 1976 and now grooming more than 100 physicians yearly. A three-year Internal Medicine Residency accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the program is designed to provide rigorous, broad-based clinical preparation with an emphasis on community medicine and transitional care.

Psychiatry
In response to the shortage of psychiatrists in Northeast Pennsylvania and across the country, The Wright Heart welcomed our kickoff class of Psychiatry Residents in July 2017. This ACGME–accredited residency is progressive in its integration of behavioral health services within primary intendance environments and promotion of preventive screenings, timely interventions and a team-based approach to care – specially for patients who may not initially seek help on their ain. Residents receive easily-on training in regional public health-based settings, including specialty practices, behavioral health clinics, hospitals and safety-net wellness centers where they partner with principal care and habit medicine teams.

Our regional residents and fellows train in several clinical learning environments throughout Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wayne and Thruway counties. We maintain a stiff affiliation with Republic Wellness, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Geisinger Infirmary organization.
